short forms huddled masses
gathering furiously to keep warm
daily drudgery not part of any
white-collar tedium
huddled masses slouching alone
torn jeans that didn't come that way,
and looking up,
the brown white shirt rumpled.
sorting out piles of newspaper
from an old ragged sweatshirt
small wisened eyes peeking out
from under the stained, worn hat
saying "fool me once..."
